Those with poison in their hearts will share it like fine wine and cheer you on as you drink from your cup. Be aware though...as debilitating as their poison can be...the deadliest poison of all comes from within us...as we allow the cup to be filled with anything but love...love for ourselves as we navigate through our daily challenges. With that said...we must promise ourselves that we will not drink of anything that poisons our hearts...or...our minds. No more negative self talk, no more putting ourselves last, no more self criticism, no more saying "I can't". Promise yourself you will take a breath, you will rest for a moment, and you will move forward...holding your own hand...cheering yourself on...as you slowly take one step at a time...one day at a time...loving yourself...a little more than yesterday.

Life is about giving. What we say...what we do...what we think...what we share. So make this life count. Give generously...but never let them leave you empty.

Perspective-the ability to understand what is important and what isn't.
Charles Darwin was known to have said "It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change." Times are changing. We must adapt. This is a time of hibernation, a time of metamorphosis and a time of adaptation.

During times of darkness...light your flame and find your happy place. My camera has always been my escape...behind the lens is definitely a happy place...but in a very very literal way. It is imperative to recognize that happiness comes from within us. We won't find an object, a person or a physical place where it exists. If you find your passion...then let that passion ignite the flame that guides you. Follow your heart. You may be isolated but you don't have to feel alone. Connect with others. Spend time doing things that you value...with people that you love...even if it is on the phone. A month ago I felt like I didn't have enough time in the day to create new art. Now I find myself incredibly grateful to have time. I can't change what is happening in the world right now but it is within my power to stay home. I have time to meditate, create, catch up with family and friends. The way I socialize is certainly different but my relationships have not changed. Be a giver. Volunteer. Find a group of people with like interests and teach them a new skill. To Brooke Shaden...thank you for being a light in the world for other artists. Thank you for being an example of how compassion for others can change the world...one step at a time. One life at a time.

Not knowing the facts, not knowing the truth, not knowing what to believe, not able to predict or see what is ahead...It is important to stay calm. Take one day at a time. We are all in this together. Take this time to take care of yourself and take care of each other. Don't react out of fear. None of us want to stay locked inside...yet there is nowhere...and no way to escape. Just breathe.
